Here are the juiciest bits from the first Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase

Well, Nintendo certainly didn't waste any time in their Partner Showcase livestream earlier. The entire show wrapped up in less than ten minutes, but what's really impressive is that they were able to squeeze in four or five chunky game announcements and updates within that small window of time. With that said, let's hop right in and see what we've got on the menu.

First up, we have Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer feat. The Legend of Zelda, which will be receiving three DLC packs: a Character Pack, a Music Pack and a Story Pack titled Symphony of the Mask. The first batch of DLC content will add five more playable characters to the music-cum-RPG title, including the Naginata-wielding Impa, Shadow Link and the extremely interesting Aria, the latter of which is meant for perfectionists since she goes kaput after one hit. The second DLC pack is rather unsurprising - it adds more music tracks to a music-based game, including remixes of popular favourites. Lastly, the Symphony of the Mask puts you in the shoes of Skull Kid, a quirky character whose abilities change depending on which map you're in.

As for release dates, the Character pack is already available for purchase, while the other two will swing by a bit later. Finally, this section ends off by revealing that the Switch version of the game, complete with all pre-existing DLCs will be released on October 23, so be sure to mark your calendars.

Next, we saw a glimpse of Hi-Rez Studios' third-person shooter Rogue Company. While this section was mostly made up of an introductory cinematic and some snippets of gameplay, it was more than enough to get us excited about it. After all, the game is already available for purchase, and it even includes cross-play and cross-progression to boot.

The third and final announcement that got our attention, was regarding Shin Megami Tensei, and it was actually split into two halves. The first bit was the announcement for a HD remaster of the much-loved Shin Megami Tensei 3 Nocturne from 2003. Like Persona 4 Golden, this was originally a PS2 game, and it'll be making its way to our Switch consoles in Spring 2021 alongside the other half of the equation - Shin Megami Tensei V

Yes, you read that right. The fifth instalment of the devil-slaying series is finally rearing its head, and the promotional video reveals that unlike some of its predecessors, which had separate release dates for different regions, this one will receive a simultaneous global launch, meaning players from all over will be able to purchase and start playing at the same time. Yup, it's time to go demon-hunting again.
