Nikon Releases Firmware Update for D800 and D4

While Nikon's new cameras, the D800 and D4, are impressive, a few issues were discovered soon after their launch. The most major one was the D800 and D4 freezing up during use, forcing users to remove the battery and restart the camera to continue shooting again.

The fix has come in the form of a firmware update for the cameras which fixes the D800 and D4's locking up issue as well as removing the dark shadow which occasionally appears at the bottom of D800 photos taken with Active D-Lighting enabled. The firmware also fixes the network transfer error where RAW files were transferred together with JPEG images despite users selecting to only send JPEG images in the camera settings.
