Creative Assembly and Sega’s next game in the Total War franchise is Total War Saga: Troy, and you’ll be able to grab it for free soon! The companies recently stated that the upcoming historical strategy game will launch on August 13, 2020 as an Epic Games Store exclusive.

Watch a trailer for the game:

While you do have to create a new Epic Games account to play the game (and forget about using mods), the game will be free to keep forever for the first 24 hours of its launch. A blog post on the Total War website notes that there are no plans for future games in the franchise to be Epic Games exclusives.

Total War Saga: Troy dives into the Trojan War, letting players charge into battle with iconic heroes in mythology, such as Achilles and Hector of Troy. The game won’t be explosively huge as past Total War entries, which makes it a great entry point for newcomers.

Creative Assembly has confirmed that the game will only be a one-year Epic exclusive, arriving on other platforms like Steam in 2021. In the meantime, you can keep tabs on the game here.
