The next MacBook Air may not come with the M2 chip

Analyst Ming-Chu Kuo shares his predictions for the next MacBook Air.

According to Kuo, the next MacBook Air will come with an all-new form factor design and more colour options. This is similar to what Bloomberg reported last year; the screen bezels are said to be reduced and the form factor could be lighter and thinner with two USB 4 ports. Tipster Jon Prosser shared in May 2021 that the next MacBook Air could come in iMac-style colours.

Kuo revised his earlier prediction about an M2-powered MacBook Air arriving in Q3 2022. He now believes the new MacBook Air will be equipped with an updated M1 chip.

The analyst also expects the new MacBook Air to not have a mini-LED display. Kuo and tipster @dylandkt shared last year that the new MacBook Air could adopt a mini-LED panel.

Apple is said to begin mass production of the new MacBook AIr in Q2 or Q3 this year, which suggests that an announcement could be planned in fall.
