Next-gen Apple TVs said to come with A12X/Z and A14-like chipsets
New Apple TVs are expected to unveil later this month and a tipster claims to have information on what to expect from these set-top boxes.
Tipster @choco_bit shared that there could be several new Apple TVs coming with different chipsets. There are supposedly variants with A12X/Z chipsets and higher-end models with "A14-like" processing power.
The Apple TVs are getting these powerful chipsts as Apple is reportedly devoting a lot of resources into Apple Arcade. @choco_bit claims that Apple is working with developers to bring console-level games to Apple Arcade and some of these games require A13 and newer chipsets to run.
Earlier this year, @jon_prosser said Apple is "ready to ship" an updated Apple TV 4K model with A12X chipset and up to 128GB storage. Bloomberg reported last month that the Apple TV will be refreshed soon with an upgraded remote control.
