Do you have the perfect living room setup, but only have a sliver of space left for your gaming machine? Zotac may have a solution to that with its NEN Steam Machine, a diminutive (210 x 203 x 62.2mm) machine that runs on Valve’s SteamOS.

It features the latest sixth-generation Intel Skylake processor, a quad-core Intel i5-6400T that is clocked at 2.2GHz. As this is a small form factor rig, the processor has a TDP of just 35 watts, and the -T suffix denotes it as a part geared toward optimized power consumption as opposed to raw performance.

So yes, size does come with certain trade-offs and don’t expect over-the-top performance with the NEN. The graphics option is similarly modest – the NEN is equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 graphics card. This should handle most games at 1080p just fine, but higher resolutions or maxed out eye candy may cause it to falter somewhat. It ships with 8GB of RAM, but there’s room to upgrade to 16GB.

Dual radial coolers help keep things chilly, and Zotac says that it should be exceedingly quiet as well. And as a sign of its attention to detail, Zotac has made it possible for you to disable the LED on your power on button. It may not sound like much, but it is. After all, an out-of-place light could really throw off your living room décor.

On the storage front, the NEN comes with a 1TB hard drive, with the option to add an M.2 SATA SSD if you wish. There’s also a USB 3.0 Type-C port for compatibility with next-generation devices.

Finally, it will be bundled with the new Steam Controller, with its nifty dual trackpads and full control customization.

There’s no word on price and availability yet, but we may just see it before the year’s out.
