For those who already have a desktop, or are considering buying one, the new 27-inch Elite XG270QC curved gaming monitor from ViewSonic, which launches next month might be worth looking into. Packing a 2560x1440 (QHD) resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate and 3ms (1ms MPRT) response time, as well as a 1500R curvature to enhance immersion, it's actually quite a sizable fellow on the outside, although it's the internal stuff that really makes it worth its weight in gold.

Straight off the bat, the XG270QC comes with PureXP technology to reduce motion blur, which can be a real strain on the eyes especially during intense gaming sessions. This aspect was tuned collaboratively with Blur Busters, and the PureXP software now provides four levels of optimised motion blur reduction, allowing users to customise it as they see fit. On top of that, Blur Busters has also further tuned their firmware to have a 240Hz refresh rate and 1ms IPS panel, ensuring that gaming experiences are always as fluid as possible.

The monitor is also certified for VESA DisplayHDR 400 and has a brightness of 550cd/m2, plus wide DCI-P3 90% colour coverage. It's topped off by AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and ViewSonic's own ELITE Display Controller software, the latter of which helps to streamline any monitor settings and RGB lighting customisations. Gamers will be able to swiftly hop between various display modes and choose from a wide selection of native RGB settings, not to mention sync their RGB lighting with ELITE RGB Alliance partnered software, like Razer Chroma and Thermaltake's TT RGB Plus.

So, if you're considering getting a new monitor, be sure to check this one out.

Local availability and pricing details will be updated as soon as we hear back from ViewSonic.
