New QNAP TS-264-8G NAS adds two NVMe 2280 PCIe expansion slots

The new QNAP TS-264-8G is a simple solution for those looking for a home-based NAS.

Launched as the replacement for the TS-253D-4G, the new two-bay TS-264-8G has two PCIe Gen 3 M.2 slots for expansion, where its predecessor lacked any. Coming equipped with an Intel Celeron N5095 quad-core processor, a dual-port 2.5GbE network for high transmission efficiency, up to 8GB of RAM, it supports both 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch SATA HDD and SSD drives. For faster speeds, it is equipped with a PCIe Gen 3 expansion slot, which can be used with a network card to expand 10GbE/5GbE network speed.

With read and write speeds of 1,644MB/s and 1,272MB/s respectively, QNAP says the NAS can run lightweight virtual machines, software containers, and supports 4K HDMI output, multi-cloud backup, cloud storage gateway, and flexible expansion of storage space and App applications

Pricing and availability

The TS-264-8G is available in Singapore for S$800 from QNAP’s stores on Shopee and Lazada, and comes with a three-year limited warranty. Note, that this is only for the enclosure and you will need to buy the drives to use.
