LG says that the company has added new grams, the Ultraslim and the Style, to the LG gram family for CES 2023, even as it looks to provide both power and portability to them.

Bringing the Style and Ultraslim

They come powered by Intel's Raptor Lake processor, also officially known as Intel 13th Gen Core processors. (Image source: LG.)

The new LG gram Ultraslim (15Z90RT) is the thinnest gram model yet, weighing 998g and is only 10.99mm thin when closed. Thin it may be, but this is the first gram notebook to boast an OLED display (2022 models didn't get this) - it's 15.6 inches across and comes with an Anti-glare Low Reflection (AGLR) coating. Powered by Intel’s newest 13th Gen processors, this model can be outfitted with up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM, has Intel’s Iris Xe graphics, and a Gen4 NVMe solid- state drive (SSD).

Select markets where the LG gram Ultraslim will be sold will have access to an "ultra-compact adapter" - a slimmer power adapter that will be included with the 2023 LG gram series.

The LG gram Style laptops come in 16-inch (16Z90RS) and 14-inch (14Z90RS) versions with both gram Style models sporting a glass design that makes each of the available colour options shine and shift dynamically. The Style series also sports an OLED display, but they offer higher resolution than the Ultraslim edition (refer to the table at the bottom for specifics).

All three models have a 16:10 aspect ratio OLED Anti-Glare Low Reflection display with a high refresh rate, support for Thunderbolt 4 as well as HDMI connectivity. Additionally, this year they offer support for Dolby Atmos.

Bringing more grams to the party

In addition to the new Style and Ultraslim models, there are four new 17-inch, 16-inch, 15-inch, and 14-inch (17Z90R, 16Z90R, 15Z90R and 14Z90R) gram models.

Designed for productivity and entertainment, the four models are powered by an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 4GB mobile GPU, Intel’s 13th Gen processor, up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM, and a Gen4 NVMe SSD.

New features for this year, variable refresh rate (VRR) support for tear- and stutter-free graphics when gaming, while Dolby Atmos will deliver audio that helps bring movies, music, and games to life. Plus, having a GeForce RTX 30 series GPU underneath the hood is also fantastic for gaming and content creation needs.

Each of the new models weigh less than 1.45kg despite having a large battery (up to 90Wh) and screen (up to 17 inches) that can handle more than 20 hours of video playback on a single charge. It also comes with the same compact adapter included with the gram Ultraslim. The lightest of them is the gram 14Z90R that's just 999 grams. So if the Ultraslim is a bit too expensive, even the standard gram can be just as light.

There are also two new gram 2-in-1 models, a 16-inch (16T90R) and a 14-inch (14T90R) that come with a suite of pre-installed notetaking and drawing applications optimised for use with the LG Stylus Pen (Wacom AES 2.0).

Finally, there is a gram that isn’t a gram.

The +view for LG gram (model 16MR70) is a portable monitor that lets users double their screen real estate and enjoy easier multitasking wherever they go, just like the previous version launched earlier in 2022. It features dual USB Type-C ports, enabling users to connect to two devices simultaneously while enjoying the convenience of two-way power delivery.
