The new Google Chrome desktop browser will allow you to stop Flash content
In its upcoming release, the Google Chrome desktop browser will allow you to stop content, like Flash animations, which aren't related to the subject matter of the web page. The main reason for this new feature is to reduce power consumption for laptops and other similar computing devices.
According to the Chrome development team, the power-saving feature is currently enabled by default on the desktop browser’s latest Beta channel release. For any plug-in content that has been stopped, you can enable its playback with just one click. To access its control options, head to Chrome's content settings. The new feature will be rolled out to mainstream users of Chrome desktop very soon.
