New Galarian forms and evolutions are coming to Pokemon Sword and Shield

The Pokemon Company showed off several new details on Pokemon Sword and Shield today, including new Galarian Pokemon forms and evolutions, a brand new rival and a cute little hamster Pokemon! You can check out the trailer below.

First up is Galarian Weezing. Weezing now resembles a British Monopoly Man, complete with smoke moustaches and a top hat-shaped smokestack. Galarian Zigzagoon and Linoone were also revealed, taking notes from KISS with their black-and-white streaks. They also have a third evolution now, known as Obstagoon

More importantly, we’ve got an adorable little hamster Pokemon! This little creature is named Morpeko. This Pokemon has two different forms, a ‘full belly’ form where turns cuter, and a ‘hangry’ form where...well, it becomes angry.

We also got a first look at our new rivals, Bede and Marnie. Marnie even comes with her own ‘wild fans’, Team Yell. We’ll have to wait and see if they have more nefarious plans for the Galar region.

Something not mentioned in the trailer is the addition of ‘Poke Jobs’. The official Pokemon website details that we will now be able to send in our Pokemon to do work around Galar. Some Pokemons will be better suited for specific jobs, and trainers might even get rare items for sending them out to perform these works.

Pokemon Sword and Shield will release for the Nintendo Switch on November 15, 2019. November’s a pretty packed month too, as it will also see the release of Death Stranding, Doom Eternal and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Better start saving up!
