DJI just unveiled its latest smartphone gimbal, the OM 4 which comes with a stronger motor, a magnetic phone holder, and new software features.

The stronger motor allows the OM 4 to provide better support for multi-lens phones and deliver an overall smoother operation. The design of the phone holder has been improved; you get a thinner, spring-loaded, magnetic clamp which has a magnetic ring holder for attaching the phone to the gimbal. The ring holder can also be used as a kickstand or a loop.

The companion app has three new features for OM 4. DynamicZoom helps you to produce the famed "Hitchcock effect" by just pressing the button in the app. The algorithms will rotate the shot in a somewaht zooming motion as you follow the subject.

CloneMe allows you to combine multiple shots from different locations to create a panorama shot. This makes it possible for you and/or your subject to be in different places at the same time in the panorama shot. The third new feature is Flashlight mode, which utilises a new built-in sensor to recognise hand movements and automatically adjust for optimial positioning in low-angle shots.

Other specs include a more compact design, battery life of up to 15 hours, USB power output for phone/accessory and supports up to 3.3" wide smartphones. The DJI OM 4 is available now for US$135.
