New Apple Watch will not have cellular connectivity, but should have GPS

Apple is widely expected to announce its new Apple Watch models this fall alongside the new iPhone, and the latest rumors suggest that the new Apple Watch will not have cellular connectivity.

Having cellular connectivity on the Apple Watch will make it less dependent on the iPhone, but doing so will also adversely affect battery life - something that Apple is not keen to do given that the current Apple Watch's battery life isn't so fantastic.

That said, Apple isn't giving up on including cellular connectivity in the Apple Watch and is currently conducting research on low-power cellular chips for future models of the Apple Watch.

On the bright side, the new Apple Watch is expected to have a built-in GPS. This will make it more effective for navigation and fitness tracking.

Other features that the new Apple Watch is expected to have include a larger capacity battery, built-in barometer, and improved water resistance.
