New 8-core 15-inch MacBook Pro comfortably beats last year's flagship model in benchmarks

Earlier this week, Apple announced updates to the 15-inch MacBook Pro. Key improvements include new 8-core 9th generation Intel Core processors and a revised keyboard design.

And now, the latest benchmarks are in and it shows the latest 15-inch MacBook Pro to offer significant performance increases over last year's model.

On popular benchmarking tool Geekbench, the new 15-inch MacBook Pro posted a 9% improvement in single-core scores and a whopping 29% increase in multi-core scores. A quick summary of their scores below:

The top-of-the-line 15-inch MacBook Pro of 2019 features an 8-core Core i9-9880HK processor that ramps up to 5GHz. Last year's flagship model, on the other hand, features a 6-core Core i9-8950HK processor that goes up to 4.1GHz.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is the power of higher clock speeds and more cores.
