New 4G enabled smartwatch the myFirst Fone S3 and TWS earbuds launch for kids
Designed for children, the myFirst Fone S3 is a 4G LTE-enabled smartwatch designed to allow kids to stay connected with friends and family.
There is a 1.4-inch square capacitive touch screen, a 2MP front camera for clear video calls, and IPX8 Water Resistance to 2m. All of this is powered by a quad-core processor, 8GB of storage, and 1GB of RAM. MyFirst says that additional storage is provided by AWS and Google Cloud.
Kids can voice and video call, message, emoji and share experiences, set voice reminders, listen to music, track steps and heart rate, and customise the watch face and straps as desired. Turn on Classroom mode so that they concentrate during class and the smartwatch only tells the time, tracks steps, and their heart rate.
With the 4G connectivity parents can keep an eye on a child’s location, geo-fence, connect anytime, and use the SOS button in case of emergencies.
As smartwatches do, the Fone S3 comes with apps but kid-safe ones, like safe call, messaging, location, and a social sharing ecosystem for kids, friends, and family to hang out safely. Parents will also receive alerts when a child is not where he is supposed to be.
But the standout app is undeniably the myFirst Circle app. The app was built from the ground up with features that provide children with a safe and protected environment in this increasingly digital world. It allows them to experience the benefits of social connectivity alongside their parents who can moderate posts on the fly.
Pair it with myFirst Carebuds
myFirst also launched new true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds, myFirst CareBuds, that come with a number of kid-friendly features like an IPX4 rating.
Firstly, it has a maximum volume of 85db to prevent children from harming their ears. Secondly, the device’s sound transparency mode will automatically kick in when it detects the child is walking, to ensure he can hear his surroundings and travel safely. Finally, bluetooth connectivity means kids can also take calls from the myFirst Fone or any other Bluetooth-connected devices.
Pricing and availability
The myFirst Fone S3 are available now for $229 from their online store from 25 January and in stores like Harvey Norman, Challenger, and Popular from 1 February. myFirst CareBuds will be available for S$69.90 from Q2 this year.
