Netflix tipped to launch its ad-supported plan on 1 Nov

Netflix is expected to announce its ad-supported plan on 1 November.

Variety reports that Netflix is bringing forward the timeline as Disney+ confirms it will launch a similar plan on 8 December. Previously, Netflix informed investors that its ad-supported plan would launch "around the early part of 2023". Netflix's ad-supported plan is reportedly launching in several countries including the U.S, Canada, U.K, Germany and France.

Netflix is said to have requested for a minimum of $10 million commitment in annual spending from ad agencies, and expects to have about 500,000 sign-ups of its ad-supported plan by the end of the year.

Bloomberg claims Netflix's ad-supported plan will be priced between US$7 (~S$9.75) to US$9 (~S$12.55). It may not come with the full catalogue of licensed content and viewers are unlikely to be able to download shows for offline viewing.
