MSI has readied a new X399 motherboard for AMD’s second-generation Threadripper processors. The MEG X399 Creation joins the X399 Aorus Xtreme in appealing to creators looking for a new X399 motherboard for their new Threadripper chip and is packed full of all the features they could need.

This is a board built for overclocking, and it boasts a massive 19-phase power delivery system for the event that you want to overclock the monster 32-core Threadripper 2990WX. It draws power from the 24-pin ATX and two 8-pin EPS headers, but there’s also an option for an additional 4-pin Molex connector.

The MEG X399 Creation has a very distinctive look, with an eye-catching but also slightly jarring faceted patterning on the VRM and PCH heatsinks. The black PCB also has a silver patterning that mirrors that of the heatsinks.

As its name suggests, the board is aimed specifically at content creators, so it is crammed full of every conceivable feature they might need. This includes dual Intel Gigabit LAN, integrated 2T2R Wave 2-capable Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.

On the rear panel, you’ll find a whopping total of eight USB 3.1 (Gen 1) Type-A and Type-A and Type-C USB 3.1 (Gen 2) ports. The latter two are provided courtesy of an ASMedia 3142 controller.

There are also no fewer than eight SATA ports that draw directly from the X399 chipset and three M.2 sockets. The M.2 sockets derive their PCIe lanes from the processor and all three sockets support both PCIe and SATA drives. Each socket also has its own M.2 Shield Frozr heatsink to help with heat dissipation and prevent thermal throttling.

In addition, MSI is bundling an M.2 Xpander-Aero PCIe card with the board, which supports a further four M.2 NVMe drives. Each slot on the expansion card also has access to four PCIe 3.0 lanes. The Xpander-Aero features its own GPU-style cooling fan as well to keep everything chilly. You can read more about it here.

The X399 supports more than just content creators however, and it features wide support for a variety of cooling solutions. It has up to 10 PWM fan headers, including a dedicated header for AIO CPU coolers.

Finally, the board supports up to 3-way AMD CrossFireX and NVIDIA SLI, so you’ll be able to pair your 32-core CPU with an equally extreme GPU configuration.

The MSI MEG X399 Creation is now available at your usual retail stores in Sim Lim Square and its SRP is set at S$799.
