Besides browsing with being harassed by ads, subscribers can look forward to “audio versions of articles,” synced bookmarks across devices, curated recommended reading fodder, and an app that will assist the reader to “find and finish great content, all without the distraction of advertising.”

Mozilla will share subscription payment directly with the sites visited by its subscription pool. In return, those sites are able to provide better content without the any distracting advertisements. This is a step forward by Mozilla to rely less on the current online advertising business model. This service also provides an alternate revenue stream for visited sites.

To register your interest, Mozilla wants you to sign up with one of its partners, Scroll, as a first step to experiencing this alternative web funding model. If you are interested in providing some feedback, click here for Mozilla’s customer survey.
