More veteran TV execs join Apple's video content team

Apple's video content team is growing with the hire of four more veteran executives.

Variety reports that three more Sony senior execs - Kim Rozenfeld, Max Aronson and Ali Woodruff - joined Apple. Rozenfeld is the former head of current programming at Sony Pictures Television and assumes the position of head of current and lead executive on documentary series development at Apple.  

Aronson and Woodruff will be joining Apple as development executives. Aronso held the position VP of drama development while Woodruff led as the director of creatvie affairs at Sony Pictures Television. Both of them report to Jamie Ehrlicht and Zack Van Amburg, who previously served as presidents at Sony Pictures Televison.

The fourth veteran executive is former WGN America head of publicity Rita Cooper Lee. His new role in Apple is to lead communications for the new video content unit. Last month, Apple hired former WFN America and Tribune Studios president Matt Cherniss to be the head of development.

The iPhone maker has been going on a hiring spree in recent months. In February,  it hired former Amazon Fire TV chief to lead its Apple TV business. In March, , former YouTube and Spotify executive Shiva Rajaraman joined Apple. The company is also said to be investing $1 billion in original video content and in the race to secure film distribution rights for the James Bond franchise
