KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who is well-known for his accurate insights on Apple's upcoming products, shared in his latest report more information about the 2018 iPhone lineup.

According to Kuo, the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone will not have a dual-camera setup like the other two OLED iPhone models. Unlike the iPhone X which has a stainless steel frame, the LCD iPhone model will come with an aluminum chassis. In addition, it will not have 3D Touch and is equipped with 3GB RAM. The OLED iPhone models will have 4GB RAM.

As Apple will position the LCD iPhone as an entry-level model, it will occupy the lowest price point among the three new iPhones. However, it is expected to cost between US$700 and US$800. Nonetheless, Kuo believes the LCD iPhone model will account for "around 50%" of the iPhone shipments this year.

Kuo talked about the possibility of Apple releasing two OLED iPhone models back in November 2017. He followed up with another report stating that the 2018 iPhone lineup will include a 6.1-inch LCD model, a 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch model with OLED display.

Kuo also shared that the 6.1-inch LCD model would be made differently from the OLED model. Earlier this week, he claimed that Apple would cease production of the iPhone X around the middle of the year due to weaker demand in China.
