Microsoft Urges You to Stop Using IE6

Would you kill your own offspring, so to speak? Well, Microsoft is trying to. The Redmond folks have created a website campaigning for net users to stop browsing the web with its archaic Internet Explorer 6 browser. In a rather bizarre attempt, Microsoft is urging users to upgrade their browsers and to drop IE6 altogether. According to Microsoft, the website is dedicated to watching Internet Explorer 6 usage drop to less than 1% worldwide. 

The Telegraph -  Microsoft has launched a website campaigning for people to stop browsing the web with its 10-year-old Internet Explorer 6 browser. In a highly unusual move, the company has said it would like IE6 to be used by fewer than one per cent of the world’s web browsers.

Microsoft has been criticized for the security loopholes found in IE6. However, a handful of corporations still depend on it since certain software are unable to run on recent web browsers.
