As noted by Android Police, Microsoft has recently updated its Remote Desktop client for Android in a rather big way. For those unaware, this app lets you work with Windows apps and desktops directly from your Android device or a Chromebook that supports the Google Play Store.

Now at version 10.0.7 (it was only v8.1.80 in May), the updated RD client has been rewritten to use the same underlying RDP core engine as the iOS and macOS clients. It now also offers full support for Windows Virtual Desktop.

Microsoft is also touting a better user experience with a new Connection Centre, including a new Connection Progress UI and in-session Connection Bar. There’s also integration with Microsoft Authenticator for conditional access when subscribing to Windows Virtual Desktop feeds.

And for the first time, the RD client supports Android TV devices, which means you can now access your remote PCs over a big-screen TV.
