After a short testing phase, Microsoft’s Cortana is now available on the Apple App Store for iOS. The Cortana app is also generally available for Android users on the Google Play store. Technically, this only applies to iOS and Android users in the U.S. and China.

First announced in May this year, Cortana is a digital personal assistant that aims to help you get things done by letting your Windows 10 PC and phone work together. That said, since it’s only an app on iOS and Android, it won’t be as powerful as Cortana on Window 10 desktops and phones, as Microsoft is unable to integrate Cortana into Apple and Google’s platforms the same way it can on its own. For example, you can’t do a ‘Hey Cortana’ on Android and iOS.

Between the two though, Cortana certainly has a higher chance to realize its potential on Android; it’s no secret that the personal assistant will be deeply integrated into the Cyanogen OS. According to Microsoft, the OnePlus One will be getting an over-the-air update with Cortana integration sometime this month.
