Microsoft’s Christmas ad where they make friends with Apple is corny but we’ll take it
‘Tis the season to be jolly, as well as indulge in rampant consumerism, but - hey, what’s this? An ad that might actually break our holiday cynicism?
Why, yes, yes it is. And it’s by Microsoft, of all folks.
Watch as a chorus of Microsoft store employees, and a local New York City children’s youth choir, sing Christmas carols outside of an Apple store. And then watch as the store employees embrace each other afterwards.
After 40 years of bickering, is this what it’s come down to - a declaration of peace on Earth, goodwill to men and women everywhere, regardless of which corporation you work for?
Yes, this video is an ad, and it’s kind of corny. But anything that promotes harmony is desperately needed and deeply appreciated these days, no matter what. Thanks Microsoft, for melting (a tiny bit) of my icy, encrusted heart.
