Following Microsoft’s announcement of Copilot for businesses, it looks like the company is bringing its generative AI to everyone with its announcement of a US$ 20-a-month subscription to Copilot Pro that is open to “individuals, creators, and power users”.

But don’t worry, Microsoft isn’t removing the free version of Copilot, it's just that subscribing to Copilot Pro comes with its perks.

For example, a subscriber to Copilot Pro can use Copilot in apps including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and OneNote to create, edit, and communicate faster. They get priority access to GPT-4 and GPT-4 Turbo during peak times, and AI images with DALL-E 3 in landscape format are created even faster with up to 100 boosts per day with Designer (formerly Bing Image Creator).

On the Copilot Pro subscription page, Microsoft recommends the free version for those who access GPT-4 and GPT-4 Turbo during non-peak times, use text, voice, and images in conversational search, and those who use Copilot on the web and in Windows, macOS, and iPadOS.

If you’re already a Microsoft 365 Personal or Home subscriber then the extra US$20 per month (per person) subscription will immediately unlock Copilot in Office apps on Mac, Windows, and iPad
