Besides the new Surface Go 2, Microsoft also announced the Surface Headphones 2 and a new price tag for the Surface Earbuds.

Like the first generation model, the Surface Headphones 2 come with active noise cancellation that has 13 levels of ambient noise control that is adjustable via on-ear dials. Microsoft has specifically tuned it to amplify or block out human voices.

The ear cup design has been revised to rotate 180 degrees for greater comfort when wearing the headphones around the neck. The Surface Headphones 2 are equipped with Bluetooth 5.0 and support Qualcomm's aptX Bluetooth codec.

Battery life has been improved from 15 hours to 20 hours with noise cancellation enabled. A quick 5-minute charge is said to deliver "almost an hour" of playback time.

The Surface Headphones 2 have a new Black finish option in addition to classic Platinum. They are priced at US$249 and will be available from 12 May.

The Surface Earbuds were announced in October 2019.

The Surface Earbuds were announced in October 2019 alongside the Surface Laptop 3, Surface Pro 7, Surface Pro X, Surface Neo and Surface Duo. They were initially scheduled to go on sale at the end of the year, but Microsoft delayed its retail availability "to get all the details right".

Microsoft has lowered the price tag of the Surface Earbuds from US$249 to US$199, which positions them favorably against the US$179 Google Pixel Buds, US$249 Apple AirPods Pro, US$179 Jabra Elite 75t and US$229.99 Sony WF-1000XM3.

The Surface Earbuds will be available from 12 May.
