MediaTek's Filogic 880 and 380 are among the world's first Wi-Fi 7 solutions

MediaTek unveiled the Filogic 880 and Filogic 380 Wi-Fi 7 platform solutions which are among the first to hit the market. 

The 6nm MediaTek Filogic 880 has a scalable architecture to support up to penta-band 4x4 with a maximum speed of 36Gbps. It combines a Wi-Fi 7 access point with a quad-core ARM Cortex-A73 application processor and an advanced networking processing unit. 

Other features of the Filogic 880 include a built-in networking crypto engine (EIP-197) for accelerating IPSec, SSL/TLS, DTLS (CAPWAP), SRTP and MACsec, and support for high-speed interfaces including 5Gbps USB and 10Gbps PCI-Express.

The 6nm MediaTek Filogic 380 is a stand-alone single-chip Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3 combo solution. Optimised for smartphones, TVs, notebooks, set-top boxes, OTT streaming services, the Filogic 380 support MLO offering up to 6.5Gbps speeds, support up to 5Gbps in one channel, support for 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz bands, support for dual 2x2 radios for dual-band simultaneous operation.

MediaTek will be showcasing the Filogic Wi-Fi 7 platform solutions at Computex 2022 from 24 May to 27 May.
