MediaTek just announced its first mmWave 5G chipset, the Dimensity 1050.

With mmWave 5G and sub-6GHz support, the MediaTek Dimensity 1050 can deliver up to 53% faster speeds and greater reach to smartphones compared to LTE+ mmWave aggregation alone.

The Dimensity 1050 is built on a 6nm process and manufactured by TSMC. It consists of two ARM Cortex-A78 CPUs with speeds of up to 2.5GHz and 6 Cortex-A55 CPUs at 2.0GHz with Mali-G610 MC3 GPU.

Other features include support for true dual 5G SIM (5G SA + 5G SA) and dual VoNR, 144Hz Full HD+ displays, dual HDR video capture engine, APU 550 for enhanced AI camera actions, and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity.

Aside from the Dimensity 1050, MediaTek also unveiled the Dimensity 930 and Helio G99 chipset. Commercial devices powered by the Dimensity 1050 and Helio G99 will be available in Q3 while phones powered by Dimensity 930 will be available later this quarter.
