MediaTek unveils Dimensity 8100 and 8000 5G chipsets
MediaTek just announced two new flagship 5G mobile processors, the Dimensity 8100 and Dimensity 8000.
Built on a 5nm process, the Dimensity 8100 and 8000 have four ARM Cortex-A78 cores which run up to 2.85GHz and 2.75GHz respectively. Both chipsets come with ARM Mali-G610 MC6 GPU with MediaTek's HyperEngine 5.0 gaming technologies.
Other notable features include the use of MediaTek's fifth-gen AI processing unit (APU 580), a five gigapixel per second image signal processor (ISP), support for up to 200MP cameras and 4K HDR10+ photography, dual camera HDR video recording, support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
The company also unveiled a 6nm chipset to the 5G lineup, the Dimensity 1300. It supports up to 200MP and has an octa-core CPU with an ultra-core ARM Cortex-A78 clocked at up to 3GHz, three ARM Cortex-A78 super cores, four ARM Cortex-A55 efficiency cores, and ARM Mali-G77 GPU.
MediaTek states that smartphones powered by the Dimensity 8100, 8000 and 1300 will hit the market in Q1.
