More than one month after announcing the Dimensity 820 chipset for dual-SIM phones, MediaTek today unveiled its latest 5G chipset, the Dimensity 720.

The Dimensity 720 consists of two ARM Cortex-A76 big cores operating up to 2GHz, 6 x ARM Cortex-A55 operating up to 2GHz, ARM Mali G57 GPU, and LPDDR4 up to 12GB.

Designed to deliver a premium experience at 5G speeds for midrange phones, the Dimensity 720 supports 90Hz high frame-rate displays, MiraVision HDR10+ video playback and flexible camera configuration options of up to 64MP or 20+16MP dual cameras.

Other features include AI-camera enhancements powered by MediaTek's integrated APU, Integrated Voice Wakeup (VoW) to reduce power consumption of always-on voice assistants, dual-mic noise suppression so that voice assistants can hear users more clearly in noisy environments, two carrier aggregation (2CC CA), Voice over Radio (VoNR), 5G and 4G dual-SIM, dual standby (DSDS), support of standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) sub-6GHz networks.
