MediaTek's answer to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is coming on 6 November

MediaTek will be unveiling its next flagship processor on 6 November.

Following Qualcomm's announcement on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform, MediaTek has just confirmed the launch date of its flagship mobile chipset.

MediaTek will be taking the wraps off its flagship mobile chipset on 6 November, 8 pm (SGT) in China. While the teaser image does not reveal many details, it is safe to assume the upcoming chipset will be called Dimensity 9300 since its flagship-tier processor for 2023 high-end phones is the Dimensity 9200.

The Dimensity 9300 is expected to have four Cortex-X4 prime cores and four Cortex-A720 performance cores, which should deliver substantial performance gains compared to its predecessor.

In comparison, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 has one Cortex-X4 prime core, five Cortex-A720 performance cores, and two Cortex-A520 efficiency cores.

Although most Android flagship phones are powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon mobile platforms, MediaTek could make some inroads if its flagship chipsets can prove themselves to be comparable or more powerful.
