Disney+ has dropped a new trailer for Season 3 of the hit Star Wars series The Mandalorian, set to arrive on the streaming service in March.

The trailer provides tantalising nuggets of what to expect in the upcoming season. Once a lone bounty hunter, Din Djarin has reunited with Grogu, who chose him over continuing to study the ways of the Jedi. Meanwhile, the New Republic struggles to lead the galaxy away from its dark history.

However, while Grogu parted ways with Luke, he still remains a fairly powerful Force user. One scene in the trailer sees him fling an enemy out of a cave, before following after in his adorable little floating pram.

Other Mandalorians also figure more prominently in Season 3. "Our people are scattered like stars in the galaxy," says Din Djarin in the voiceover. "What are we? What do we stand for?"

"I'm going to Mandalore. So that I may be forgiven for my transgressions." Season 3 is shaping up to be a story of redemption, as Din Djarin reconnects with his roots and origins.

Similarly, we may finally find out who saved Grogu from the Jedi Temple on Coruscant during Order 66. A flashback from the point of view of Grogu shows several Jedi wielding lightsabers, while someone attempts to cut through the doors ahead of them, sending sparks flying.

It's not clear whether this will be Anakin Skywalker as the newly minted Darth Vader, or some other foe or ally entirely. If anything, fans would be thrilled by a Vader cameo. That said, Season 3 could also help set up the Ahsoka series, especially after her live-action debut in Season 2.
