Time to suit up as Tommy Angelo again.

2K has opted to postpone the release of Mafia: Definitive Edition from August 28 to September 25, 2020. Mafia Definitive Edition is a top-to-bottom remake of the first Mafia game in the current trilogy.

2K has also released a new trailer of the remake, with just about a second of new gameplay:

According to the official announcement, this delay is due to developer Hangar 13 having difficulties in completing the remake due to the ongoing pandemic:

Finalizing everything in time for that launch date has become increasingly challenging due to the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic, and the last thing we want to do is compromise the quality of the experience.

Seeing as Mafia II: Definitive Edition released with a whimper, rather than a bang - it’s great that Hangar 13 is really taking the time they need to complete this remake. From the looks of it, this game is going to blow away fans of the original Mafia game, too. Its visuals look pretty great - far better than the rest of the Mafia Trilogy, in fact.

We won’t have to wait much longer to see actual gameplay. 2K has promised an extended sneak peek of Mafia: Definitive Edition gameplay on July 22, 2020. The game will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Find more information on the Mafia Trilogy here.
