Mad Catz announces G.Y.R.A gaming chair and other peripherals
Mad Catz has just announced a bucketload of gaming gear at CES 2022, including a keyboard, headset, mouse pad, controller, fight stick, and even a gaming chair.
First off is S.T.R.I.K.E. 6 mechanical keyboard, a 60% model designed around customisation and rich functionality. However, it's not immediately clear if there are any further customisations beyond the hot-swappable PCB that lets you change switches on-the-fly and the RGB lighting with 26 RGB effects. On top of that, Mad Catz says you can sync the RGB effects with sound as well. The default switches are linear ones rated for up to 80 million keystrokes.
Then there's the new P.I.L.O.T. 5 and P.I.L.O.T. 3 headsets, featuring lightweight, ergonomic designs. The large, oval ear pads are shaped to reduce pressure on the ears and help suppress ambient noise. The headband and ear pads are padded with plush memory foam and wrapped in soft protein leather for improved comfort. Both models are also equipped with 50mm sealed chamber dynamic drivers, but the P.I.L.O.T. 5 also supports virtual 7.1 surround sound for a wider soundstage.
The S.U.R.F. RGB mouse pad is a cloth pad made from soft, stain-resistant fabric. Mad Catz describes this as "precision-enhancing" as well, but it's not clear whether this pad was designed with control or speed in mind. The pad is also bordered by an RGB strip capable of displaying 16.8 million colours and seven dynamic lighting effects for some extra style points.
Mobile or fighting game players will appreciate the C.A.T. 9 controller and T.E. 3 fight stick. The C.A.T. 9 works with a wide range of platforms, including Android, PC, Nintendo Switch, and the iPhone and iPad. It connects via Bluetooth and comes outfitted with a 6-axis motion sensor, dual vibration effects, and programmable macro buttons. On the other hand, the T.E. 3 was made to emulate the classic arcade experience with Sanwa Denshi buttons. It supports the Xbox and PlayStation 4 and 5 over bridge, and also connects to your PC.
Finally, the G.Y.R.A gaming chair joins the crowded gaming chair space, featuring the familiar racing seat look. It comes with an automatically adjustable lumbar support, 4D armrests, and is cushioned with high-density cold-cure foam.
All the products are due for release sometime in Q2, so more details will probably be available then as well.
