Good news, cyclists!
Singaporean start-up company Lumos has just launched the Lumos Matrix - a smart helmet that keeps cyclists visible day and night. The smart helmet is now available at Apple retail stores worldwide.
The Lumos Matrix isn’t just a torchlight strapped to a helmet - it has over 1,000 lumens of lighting to make riders visible everywhere they go. They can also make use of the helmet's responsive turn signals, which indicate direction via a button press. These turn signals can also be synced to an Apple Watch.

The Lumos Matrix also has a built-in accelerometer, allowing for the back of the helmet to automatically light up red when a rider slows down. If you want to customise the Lumos Matrix’s flashing patterns, you can also use the Lumos smartphone app to create and upload your very own patterns into the helmet. I’m sure that will end well, and no one’s going to be naughty about it.
Apparently, the Lumos Matrix is designed to keep riders visible and safe - as Singapore has a problem with personal mobility device-related accidents. If you’re interested, you can pick up the Lumos Matrix for S$349.95.
You can’t put a price on safety, right?
