The LuminAID Inflatable Solar Light Comes to Singapore

The LuminAID light is a solar-powered, inflatable light which packs flat and can be inflated to create a lightweight lantern. It was designed by LuminAID Labs co-founders Anna Stork and Andrea Sreshta to provide light in post-disaster situations. The LuminAID provides up to eight hours of LED light (up to 10 hours on its Low setting), recharges in five hours of direct sunlight, is waterproof and can float when inflated. All components, including the battery, are lead-free.

While the LuminAID was originally designed for disaster relief, it might also appeal to campers and adventurers who want a lightweight, rechargeable spare light to carry with them. When the LuminAID is deflated, the LED light is direct and harsher, but once it's inflated the light diffuses. The LuminAID is now available at selected shops in Singapore, with a retail price of S$34.90.

When deflated, the LED light can appear harsh.

Once the LuminAID is inflated however, the light becomes more diffused.
