Logitech unveils G910 Orion Spark mechanical keyboard
Logitech has just announced the G910 Orion Spark RGB Mechanical Keyboard. The keyboard features Logitech's own in-house Romer-G mechanical switches, which Logitech claims offer 25 percent faster actuation than any other mechanical switch, as well as improved durability and intelligent backlighting. The keyboard also features nine dedicated G macro keys, and a dock for your smartphone, intended to be used with Logitech's new Arx control app.
“This keyboard is the culmination of years of ongoing development by our engineering team, incorporating feedback from gamers and eSports athletes to develop a next-generation mechanical key,” said Vincent Tucker, director of Logitech gaming. “Our team was charged with developing a keyboard that truly improves the gaming experience, and Orion Spark delivers.”
The G910's Romer-G mechanical switches, have an actuation point of 1.5 mm, far shorter than both the 2mm actuation point on most Cherry MX switches, and the 1.9mm actuation point on Razer's in-house mechanical switches. The switches also boast improved durability, rated at up to 70 million keystrokes (compared to 50 million for Cherry MX switches, and 60 million for Razer switches).
The backlighting on every key of the G910 can be individually customized from a palette of 16.8 million colors. Keys can be marked by color to keep track of hotkeys or other important commands, or can be set to change colors according to which game you're playing.
The Logitech G910 Orion Spark is expected to be available in Singapore in mid November 2014, for S$249.00.
