Just like a house, a car or a Starbucks order, there are lots of things that potential buyers might look out for when selecting a pair of gaming headphones, especially if they're considering wireless options as well. Price is usually the most obvious candidate, followed by audio performance and perhaps, the physical weight of the set - after all, nobody wants to feel like they've got an anvil propped on their head for hours on end.

But while it's common for most folks to make concessions in one aspect or the other, sometimes you want all of those things done well and then some. In that case, Logitech has just rolled out their new G435 LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Headset, which the tech giant touts as their lightest and most affordable wireless option yet.

Not to mention it's also their most sustainable one too.

Apparently, if you put aside the feather-light 165g weight, the gaming-grade 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth audio connectivity options, the spicy 40mm audio drivers and the dual beamforming microphones, the G435 also features a CarbonNeutral certification. This means that Logitech is financing "high-quality certified carbon offsets" with a portion of the G435's sales - effectively reducing the carbon footprint of the headsets to zero. Additionally, a substantial part of the headset is made up of recycled plastics from post-consumer products, and even the paper packaging comes from FSC-certified forests - how's that for environmentally friendly?

Of course, Logitech hasn't made any compromises to aesthetics in the process of helping the planet. Not only is the G435 as sleek as every wireless headset should be, but it even comes in a variety of snazzy colours. Currently, the palette includes three choices: Black and Neon Yellow, Blue and Raspberry and Off-White and Lilac, and as a bonus for visually-impaired users, there are even braille indicators on the headset to help them tell the left and right sides apart.

As always, the million-dollar questions are about price and availability. According to Logitech, the G435 LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Headset will be retailing at a tidy S$109 in October. Admittedly, a concrete launch date has not been announced, but considering that you'll be doing both the planet and your gaming experiences a favour by picking one of these up, the wait is well worth it.
