Good news for owners of the 4th-generation iPad Air, Logitech is launching a new version of its Combo Touch keyboard that's compatible with the tablet.

The Combo Touch keyboard has been available for the latest iPad Pros (both 12.9 and 11-inch models) for a while now, but this new model has been designed to give a perfect fit to the 4th-gen iPad Air.

The design is largely similar to the ones for the iPad Pro and it comes in two colours Oxford Grey and Sand. Sand is new and looks like light grey. This new Sand colour will be coming to the Combo Touch for iPad Pro too.

The Combo Touch connects to the iPad Air using the Smart Connector which means it doesn't need a Bluetooth connection nor does it need charging – it draws power directly from the iPad Air.

Unlike Apple's Magic Keyboard, the Combo Touch keyboard features a row of shortcut keys which is handy for quickly adjusting things like volume and display brightness. The keys themselves seem well-sized and feature backlights. The clickable trackpad looks large.

Availability and pricing

No word yet on local availability and pricing but the Logitech Combo Touch for the 4th-gen iPad Air is already available in the US and it's priced at US$199.99 (~S$269). Even taking a slight markup into account, the Combo Touch should still come in at a significantly lower price than the Apple Magic Keyboard which is S$439.
