Loewe Reveals Connect ID Smart TV with a Myriad of Color and Mounting Combinations

Loewe's Connect ID Smart TVs, fitted with Orange and Green fabric covers on the left and right respectively.

Loewe added another feather to their premium Smart TV cap today, following the launch of the 'Connect ID' unveiled at the Loewe Gallery earlier. One of the main highlights of the Connect ID lies with its set of interchangeable bezel covers with six hues to choose from, including Black, White, Silver, Beige, Green, and Orange. Users can also customize the Smart TV's color scheme further with a choice of the High Gloss White or High Gloss Black bezel frames. For rack installations, there's the optional and rather unique Table Stand Tableau, available in walnut or porcelain. A total of twelve different mounts and stands (including the Table Stand Tableau) are compatible with the Connect ID.

The German audio-visual maker will offer the TV in two technical flavors - with or without the DR+ hard disk recorder. Customers who opt for the DR+ recording option will receive the Connect ID with a built-in 500GB hard drive carrying DVR functions. Although the colorful Smart TV was launched in other markets previously like the UK for instance, Singapore is one of the first nations to receive the larger and newer 55-inch model on top of the 32, 40, 46, and 55-inch variants. The 3D-capable display will carry an LCD panel, illuminated by direct LED backlights. According to Loewe, the Connect ID will arrive with DVB-T/C and DVB-S2 digital satellite tuners. The satellite tuner isn't quite applicable in Singapore's broadcasting context, but an optional second-generation DVB-T2 tuner is available if required. Ports wise, expect three HDMI and two USB slots, plus integrated LAN and WLAN offerings to boot.

The Connect ID's Smart TV features comprise of the Loewe MediaHome, HbbTV via Loewe MediaText, and Loewe's MediaNet Smart TV platform. According to Mr Alvin Tien, Deputy COO of Atlas Sound & Vision, most of the OTT and VOD content isn't available here as yet. However, users will have access to social networking apps like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, among other titles. Then there's the Loewe DR+ Streaming technology. Essentially, DR+ Streaming enables the Smart TV to stream recorded content from the TV's hard disk to other compatible Loewe televisions connected to the home network.

The Loewe Assist multi-purpose remote wand will be delivered as part of the Connect ID package. On top of that, users may also double up the iPad as a remote too via the Loewe Assist Media app.

“Buyers in the premium television market are no longer just looking for a television, but a visual, yet intelligent addition to the home which exudes unique character. Together with Loewe, we are pleased to be expanding our local product range with the Loewe Connect ID, and are confident that the unique design offerings will add new colour and personality to the living areas of any proud home owner", says Dr. Michael Tien, CEO of Atlas Sound & Vision.

As expected from a luxury home entertainment brand, Loewe did not neglect the TV's audio firepower judging by the fabric-covered speakers, D-class amplifiers, AC3 decoder, and the pair of down-firing speakers. Sold separately, the 3D glasses will set you back about S$359 per pair. Base prices for the Connect ID are as follows: S$5,578 (55-inch), S$4,318 (46-inch), S$3,788 (40-inch), and S$2,948 (32-inch). The Loewe Connect ID Smart TV can be purchased at the Loewe Gallery, located at 390, Orchard Road, #01-01A, Palais Renaissance Singapore.
