Lian Li's new O11 Air Mini is designed around airflow
Lian Li's new O11 Air Mini continues the strong tradition of the O11 Dynamic and O11 Dynamic Mini. You get the same support for high-end hardware, with one key difference. While the latter two cases are arguably better suited for liquid-cooling, the O11 Air Mini was designed around high airflow, much like the original O11 Air.
Instead of the glass front, you get mesh front, top and side panels. The mesh is super dense and fine, which is supposed to allow it to act as a dust filter to reduce dust buildup in the chassis. The case also ships with three pre-installed PWM fans, in addition to support for a wide array of fan and radiator configurations. That's up to 10 120mm fans, in case you're counting. And in a nice departure from the O11 Dynamic Mini, the O11 Air Mini will also support ATX power supplies thanks to a modular back panel.
The modular back panel also lets you switch between five- and seven-expansion slot configurations, depending on whether you're installing an ATX or m-ATX motherboard. There is room for even the highest-end graphics cards today too, with up to 362mm of clearance. It'll also take a good-sized CPU cooler up to 170mm tall.
However, the focus on air cooling doesn't mean that liquid cooling has been excluded entirely. Depending on the back panel configurations and the motherboard installed, there are four possible mounting locations for a 240mm radiator.
The O11 Air Mini is available in black and white. The Black is slightly cheaper at US$109.99, while the White version costs US$119.99. The price premium likely comes from the white powder coating on the aluminium front on the white version, which also sports matching white internals, dust filters, and light grey rubber grommets.
