Lian Li has announced a new addition to its LANCOOL line of PC cases: the mid-tower LANCOOL III. The case comes almost three years after the release of the original LANCOOL II, with some design cues from the LANCOOL II Mesh, the most notable being the updated front panel.

Compared with the LANCOOL II, which featured two 35mm vents on the front, the LANCOOL III's front panel consists of a mesh panel flanked by two aluminium strips running vertically down the case on the side. Lian Li says the new mesh panel offers 51% porosity, with each perforation in the vent measuring 1.5mm in diameter. Mesh panels are also present on the top of the case as well as on both sides of the PSU shroud, and as a final out-of-the-box feature to help with cooling, the LANCOOL III also comes with four pre-installed 140mm PWM fans (three at the front and one at the rear).

The case internals are accessible through the hinged tempered glass side panels, and feature a storage upgrade. The LANCOOL III is able to take up to 4 3.5-inch HDDs and 8 2.5-inch SSDs, or up to 12 2.5-inch SSDs if you want to eschew hard drives, made possible through drive mounts behind the motherboard tray and in a hard drive cage, along with mounts above the PSU chamber and behind the right PSU shroud panel.

The LANCOOL III also has eight velcro straps behind the motherboard tray as a cable management solution. The case comes with support for up to E-ATX sized motherboards under a width of 280mm, along with support for ATX PSUs and 420mm long graphics cards. If you wish, you can also install your graphics card vertically through Lian Li's separately-sold O11D EVO Vertical GPU Kit, which comes with a PCIe 3.0 or 4.0 riser cable.

The LANCOOL III comes in two versions, the regular LANCOOL III and the LANCOOL III RGB. The main differences are what you would expect, such as the three pre-installed 140mm fans on the front coming with ARGB, along with RGB control buttons on the front panel near the I/O.

And speaking of I/O, the LANCOOL III features two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type-C port at an unspecified speed. A nifty feature with the I/O, though, is its reversibility, so you can have the ports on the bottom of the case rather than the top if you're putting your PC on your desk.

Availability and Pricing

The Lian Li LANCOOL III will cost S$209 and S$226 for the black and white RGB versions respectively, as it seems the non-RGB versions aren't being sold at the moment. You can get the cases at Lian Li's official Lazada store here (though it seems to be out of stock), or at Corbell Technology's Shopee store here (though it's currently on pre-order). You can get the O11D EVO Vertical GPU Kit in either black or white on Lian Li's Lazada store here for S$109.
