LG's next flagship phone is reportedly put on hold
With LG rumoured to be considering a sale, withdrawal or downsizing of its smartphone business, the fate of its upcoming flagship phone is unclear.
South Korean site Chosun claims that the successor to the LG V60 is on indefinite hold. A source said that LG and Korean telco partners have decided against field-testing the phone. The phone was initially planned for release in March after field testing concluded in February. According to Android Authority, LG declined to comment when asked on the report.
LG's smartphone business has been on the decline for many years as it struggled to fend off competition from Chinese phone makers and Samsung. With its new flagship phone and rollable phone being put on hold, LG faces a bleak future for its smartphone business.
