The action camera market has a new player - LG. The South Korean company just announced its first action camera, the LTE Action Camera as part of the LG G5 Friends ecosystem.

What sets the LTE Action Camera apart from the rest is its ability to live stream directly to YouTube over a 4G LTE connection. Other specs include a 12.3-megapixel camera with 150-degree wide angle lens, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 618 processor, 2GB RAM, USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, an accelerometer and a gyroscope.

The 95g LTE Action Camera is waterproof up to a meter of water for 30 minutes and can stay even longer when paired with a completely waterproof case which will be released later this year. It also can record UHD (30fps), FHD (60fps) and HD (120fps) videos. The 1,400mAh battery is stated to provide up to four hours of FHD recording and live streaming can last about two hours.

LG will be launching the LTE Action Camera in South Korea next month, followed by European markets and North America. Pricing and local availability are not available at time of publication.
