LG Unveils Android 4.0 Upgrade Schedule for Its Phones

Following recent announcements by Samsung and Sony Ericsson, LG also unveiled the Android 4.0 upgrade schedule for several of its phones which include the LG Optimus 2X, Prada phone by LG 3.0, LG Optimus 3D, LG Optimus Sol, the LG Optimus Black.

LG is the latest Android vendor to announce the Android 4.0 upgrade schedule for its phones. As it is a global upgrade schedule, the exact start dates will vary by market as different countries, carriers and smartphone models have different requirements. 

The upcoming Prada phone by LG 3.0, LG Optimus 2X and LG Optimus Sol will be the first batch of phones getting Android 4.0 in Q2 2012, followed by the LG Optimus 3D and the LG Optimus Black in Q3 2012.

Based on the respective dates, Samsung appears to be in the lead with its devices getting the update as early as Q1 2012. Sony Ericsson also will be rolling out Android 4.0 to its Xperia portfolio starting from end March 2012. HTC, Huawei and Motorola have not released any specific timeline for their devices though.
