LG has announced the launch of the UltraGear 27GN950 in Singapore, a 4K IPS monitor with a 1ms gray-to-gray response time. First unveiled at CES 2020, the 27-inch screen combines crisp visuals with a responsive panel and a 144Hz refresh rate over VESA Display Stream Compression (DSC).

4K 144Hz monitors are still a rarity today, and the UltraGear 27GN950 doesn't make gamers choose between one or the other. This makes the monitor a great fit for a wide genre of games, ranging from twitch reaction first-person shooters to more immersive, exploratory titles like Assassin's Creed Valhalla. However, the high resolution means you will want to pair it with a powerful card, preferably one of NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 3000 series cards.

Elsewhere, it also offers up to 98 per cent coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space and DisplayHDR 600 certification, so you should enjoy a wider colour gamut, better contrast, and an overall brighter and more vibrant image. On top of that, it is NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible and also supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, which means smooth and tear-free gameplay.

It's shaping up to be a good fit for professionals who prize colour accuracy as well, and LG says the monitor supports a 10-bit colour depth and hardware calibration, which means the Nano IPS display can offer more precise colour reproduction.

When it comes to display inputs, it has two HDMI 2.0 ports and one DisplayPort 1.4 connector. However, do note that you'll need to use the DisplayPort input to take advantage of the 144Hz refresh rate.

The UltraGear 27GN950 is now available to pre-order from Lazada and Shopee at S$1,399. You can also pick it up from authorised retailers like Best Denki, Challenger, COURTS, Harvey Norman and Gain City.
