LG is testing three new concept robots at hotels, airports and supermarkets

LG recently expanded its robot portfolio with three new offerings at CES 2018. The three new concept robots are the Serving Robot, the Porter Robot and the Shopping Cart Robot. They will be undergoing trials at hotels, airports and supermarkets.

LG's Serving Robot.

The Serving Robot can deliver meals and drinks to guests and customers at hotels and air lounges efficiently. Working round the clock, the Serving Robot can deliver food or refreshments via its built-in sliding tray. Once the customer removes the items from the tray and the delivery is confirmed, it will automatically makes its way back. 

LG's Porter Robot.

As the name suggests, the Porter Robot can deliver luggage to the guests' rooms and minimize inconvenience which can be caused by slow service or long waiting times. The Porter Robot also can process express check-in and check-out services and manage payments. This will enable guests to check out quickly and have their luggage delivered to a waiting car. 

LG's Shopping Cart Robot.

The Shopping Cart Robot allows customers to scan items using its onboard barcode reader to view prices and see their entire shopping list on the display. In addition, the Shopping Cart Robot can guide customers to the products they select on their smartphone app.

The three new concept robots are part of LG's new CLOi robot brand and developed in parallel to ThinQ products, LG's AI brand for consumer electronics and home appliances.
