LG to supply LTPO OLED with hole-punch design for the Apple iPhone 14
Apple will be using some low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) thin-film transistor (TFT) OLED panels from LG next year.
TheElec reports that LG has secured a small order of LPTO TFT OLED panels from Apple and they will be used for the iPhone 14 Pro Max. These panels are said to come with hole-in-display technology, which corroborates earlier reports of the iPhone 14 Pro models having punch-hole displays.
Samsung will be supplying the bulk of the panels for the Pro Max model and is the sole supplier for the Pro model. Chinese display maker BOE will supply low-temperature polycrystalline silicon (LTPS) TFT OLED for the iPhone 14 models.
The Apple iPhone 14 Pro lineup is rumoured to come with a 48MP primary rear camera, a complete redesign, under-display Face ID, and a titanium chassis.
