LG to supply batteries for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 are said to be equipped with batteries from LG.
Korean publication TheElec reports LG Energy Solution will be supplying batteries for the upcoming foldable phones. To avoid or minimise any delay from potential supply chain issues, Samsung is also ordering batteries from Amperex Technology Limited (ATL) and Samsung SDI.
With each battery expected to cost about US$10 to US$15 and the foldable phones having two batteries, the battery component cost for each device is likely to be up to US$30.
Aside from the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5, Samsung is rumoured to launch a foldable tablet alongside the Galaxy Tab S9.
