LG rumoured to unveil a phone with rollable screen in March 2021

The LG Wing is the first device to be launched under the company's Explorer Project. A second device is expected to be announced in March 2021.

LG is said to be launching two new smartphones by the first quarter of 2021.

Korean publication The Elec claims that the two smartphones, codenamed Rainbow and B Project, will be announced within Q1 2021 and March 2021 respectively. Rainbow is expected to have specs similar to the flagship V series while the B Project is likely the second model from LG's Explorer Project.

As a new mobile category aimed at discovering new ways to interact with mobile devices, B Project is rumoured to allow one of the sides of the front screen to be rolled out to become a bigger screen.

In addition, the South Korean company will outsource more phone production to original design manufacturers (ODMs) from next year. LG is expected to have over 70% of its smartphones made by ODMs in 2021, up from 60% this year and 30% in 2018.
